Good basics here. Love the general feel and flow of the game.
Couple notes: Laser cooldown seems way too long; makes that weapon useless at low levels. And upgrading it never seemed to improve cooldown.
Looking forward to improvements you've already mentioned. It will be fun to see achievement system, more weapons, upgrade shop, et cetera. Keep up the good work!
I like the art, the design, the concept of wizard that lost his powers and will restore them by killing these slimes, diffrent color slimes, castles, floating islands, caves, ring of fire, ice armor, healing fairies maybe in the future? ill let my imagination go wild, polish it you guys and publish it on every platform, great job 5/5 i hope you make billions and settle chilling with either juice, tea or coffee chilling on your home desk with the big 3D dream on the horizon.
A suggestion is that the map should be more zoomed out, so player will have more time to react to newly spawned enemies. Also I think giving enemies outline or another color that contrast against the floor more might make they more noticable.
Hello, in the update that we have just launched, we just did what we did to zoom out the camera among other things, the other thing we will take into account, thanks for your comment. π¦
fantastic game, i do have two small nitpicks, one, the camera movement follows the player and ends up lagging behind a bit, you can end up running into enemies without seeing them sometimes, i think it might help for the camera to follow a bit ahead of where the player is moving toward. And two, slimes should move a bit differently, instead of a constant speed of acceleration, they should dash in short bursts to match with their animation, so they're more so shimmying across the floor than sliding around. (the slime movement is more so for visuals so don't take it too serious.) All in all though the art is simplistic and fantastic, and the game feels great to play, Love it!
Pretty good game but I think it would be better if it had a chance to drop a healing item from an enemy, or make the health that drops from big slime heal more.
Good game! Not much content, but this has a solid base. Gameplay is fluent, controls are good.
One improvement I suggest is to make the mouse cursor better visible, or indicate the direction of firing in another way. Especially when it's crowded it's annoying to have to search for the cursor.
Thanks for your feedback and thanks for pointing this out! I'm thinking of reworking the mouse by making it bigger and allowing the player to change its color, plus I could add an indicator on Nefarius and also, maybe an auto fire option
leveling is SO SLOW later on. The leveling formula should be a polynomial, like in Vampire Survivors where it's quadratic (xp required for each level is 8n^2, where n is the level). You can get this effect by adding to the needed xp each time you level up. It seems like right now you're multiplying it by some constant each level, which means the pace always feels like it's slowing down, since no computer can handle an exponentially increasing number of enemies for an extended period.
Thank you for the comment it will help me a lot, basically as you guessed Iβam using a constant which is ridiculous, itβs going to be changed in the next patch
It has a strong core, but there is definitely room for improvement. The lazer is not explained anywhere in game, the faster rotation on the books seems to take a second second before starting up, leading to poor feedback.
While I think this is one of the best games I've found on itch.io for free I think some changes like letting the player level up without being killed instantly at the start and also making it a little more obvious you've been hit.
In my humble opinion there are 2 things that bothers me. First is the hitbox on the enemies, i feel like sometimes i try to get away from getting damaged in the enemy swarm, but i still get hitted. Maybe giving a little more space to move around so it can have a little bit more of skill progression would be nice (imo at least).
On the same topic, another thing that could be improved is a tiny invulnerability frame when you get hitted, so you can try and get to a safe place if you are hitted.
My second point is that it would be awesome that if the book continued to stay on an enemy sprite it would still damage it, in this way it opens up for a reward in skill if you are pacing around an enemy and are able to do this.
Well, this are little things that i feel could improve the gameplay a lot. I really loved it!
Nefarius is a great game! I like graphics and how it is done. It would be nice probably to have at least minimal ways to recover hp, but overall I think it's great.
Now I've played this game before new changes - which may make game even more interesting - I looked at the icons and it looks cool. The only issue I've noticed is the fact you can roll a maxed item on level up - picking it as an option when you level up just wastes your level up on nothing.
Thanks for your feedback, also for the video! It really help me seeing other people playing the game. The level up thing just got fixed on the new version
BOOOOM this new laser is good! The game has mode good progess since the last time its nice, I think the only thing needed now is some kind of objective than only surviving and maybe different enemy type, I mean something different that doesnt just run at you
Loved this game! I have to use a game to make an analysis on it on various aspects and I'm definitely going to use this one. Don't worry, I'll give more than enough credits, might as well repeat your names 30 times :). SUPER FUN!
Personally I think adding space to dash is an interesting addition, but requiring left click and shift hazards adding too many buttons to press at the same time. One of the charms of vampire survivors is only using wasd/arrows to play.
Compared to vampire survivors, I think making it based on discrete levels instead of continuous is also an interesting and positive direction.
Hello, thank you very much for your comment, I understand your point of view, but Vampire Survivors is only one of our references, we do not plan that the gameplay is the same because if so the game would be classified as a clone or copy, in the same way we will be aware of the issue of controls and perhaps in the future, have some changes, again thank you.
The only cristism I have is the dash was a little underwhelming and honestly killed me more then anything, but that might be because i saw the dash animation and thought it gave I-frames for a few seconds
Other then that, I love it and can't wait to see where it goes next!
Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you liked the game! For the dash, I'll make sure it won't bait anyone anymore in the next update by giving it more invincibility frames

Amazing and for free!! I have a bug report tho, if you press retry more than once the game bugs
Thanks for your comment π¦
how do i use the laser?
Hello, you can use it by pressing the F key, for the moment
There should be some more ways to heal. Than the little bit you get after a boss kill.
if you get surrounded by slimes, you are essentially dead.
Certainly for the new update we are working on it ;)
GodotμΌλ‘ μ΄λ° κ²λ λ§λ€ μ μκ΅°μ!
This and more!
For mac ?
Perhaps, in the future
Okay thx
Good looking game, chill gameplay, but the collision detection is really bad, or maybe the slimes attack with their hands(!) at close range
Actually you are right, we are working on adjusting this kind of things for the next update, thanks for the comment. π¦

THIS GAME IS AMAZING, but I have one suggestion, you should be able to hide under the trees.
Thanks for the comment!
Hiding under the trees, why not, but what's supposed to happen? The slimes suddenly stop moving and walk around haha
yes

Thanks for the interesting ideas, I will talk about it with the artist. For the camera you are right, itβs going to be fixed in next update
It's really fun!
What are these types of games called?, so cool man
bullet hell
Vampire Surviver
will there be customizable keybinds
Yes itβs planned in the next major update
Nice. Nice. Very nice.
Very good game. Good luck with it.
Thanks n.n
Nice game, I had some good fun. Would be nice to have a support for a twin-stick controller on this.
Glad you had some fun! Ok for the controller itβs going to be supported on the next update
Pretty good game but I think it would be better if it had a chance to drop a healing item from an enemy, or make the health that drops from big slime heal more.
Thanks for pointing this out, I just doubled the healing in new patch!
Desperately needs a magnet upgrade.
Shouldn't have to unlock boots and it should be clear that it's how how unlock speed upgrades.
I tend to die by enemies appearing in blind spots behind me.
Nice graphics. Game has potential. Unfortunately, download version doesn't work on my old PC.
Thanks for the feedback! You are right some things arenβt really clear when you play it for the first time, weβll work on this
Haha thanks, that made me laugh

Nefarius The Last Wizard Gameplay

Thanks!
A really very good game.
The proof of fun is definitely there.
A little more player feedback, such as when the player is hit, a screen shake, or a red vinette would really improve the game.
(My Opinion)
The world still feels very lifeless, but is very nicely designed, maybe a VFX of leaves blowing in the wind would make the world livelier.
(My Opinion)
You have already made a great game. :)
Your art style is very sweet and simple, and the music fits the setting well. ^^
Keep it up!
I follow the project^^
Greetings <3
