Perfect for my game!
i hope you could add more customization to the character or add more npc variants and probably some or more enemies/monster
also if you could add animations for tools/weapons
like
for weapon:
- sword
- bow (specially this)
- spear
- wand/staff
- etc
for tools:
- hammer
- fishing pole
- watering can
- shovel
- pickaxe
- generic doing something animation
- etc
also maybe some more theme like lava, ice, dark etc
Hi, thanks for the comment, yes I plan to add all those things, but I will do them as the package is being supported, currently I can not afford to advance it without more, but in the future all those things will be, or most of them. n.n
Love your assets! quick question - I'm using the Godot framework and I'm working on a game that will procedurally generate a terrain. I noticed that your tilemap actually fits with this terrain map template i saw in some docs (see attached) - any tips on autotiling using your assets would be immensely helpful since im new to all this terrain mapping stuff
Greetings and thank you, about that system, I understand that the way I have ordered all the tiles is the most optimal and complete for the auto-tiling system, from there on I would not know how to help you, since I have very little experience in the subject of programming, I have also seen that there are tutorials on the subject, I hope this answer is helpful, greetings n.n
Hey there! Great assets. What is "Basic Tiles 2.png" for? It seems like a simplified version of "Basic Tiles 1.png". Is it for collisions?
Greetings, no, it is for simpler floors, without borders, as shown in the previews
Hi, very nice pack! I would like to know what palette you are using? I want to modify your pack a bit and I don't want the colors to be very different, so I would be glad to know the color palette. Thanks!
Hi, the palette I use is called βAREN32β, but keep in mind that over time I have been adding some other color that is not in the palette, if you have any other questions, let me know n.n
Thank you so much! Well, since you gave me the opportunity to ask something else, I'll ask when are you planning to add house interiors? Sorry for the question and thank you.
Currently it's not in my plans as I have a lot to do in other projects and Pixel Plains hasn't really had that much support yet, but I'll keep it in mind, who knows if one of these days I'll start updating all my packages ;)
Thanks for reply! Good luck with other projects :3
I'm having a hard time understanding the grid settings for Basic Character v1 spritesheet. No settings in Tiled seem to work :/
Hello, can you tell me in detail what the problem is?
Hi thanks for the reply! I am using the Tiled editor to load Basic Character v1. In the options, I specify the margin (distance from image edge), spacing (distance between sprites), and sprite size. There are a few issues. The first is that the walking animation has a size of 16x17. You can see it here, where the character's head goes out of frame by 1 px. In order to get the character to fit within 16x16, and to preserve the vertical motion, I had to shorted the character's torso for that frame.
The second issue is that the margins are different for the x and the y, making it impossible to import into Tiled, which only uses a single "margin" value. I've added some guidelines to show what I mean. The x margin is 5, and the y margin is 8, but they must be made uniform to import into Tiled.
Maybe other tools have more flexibility when importing spritesheets? But I needed to edit it significantly to get it to work. Hope that feedback is useful.
Hello again, all the characters are arranged in sprite sheets, each one in a 24x24 grid so there is no problem at all, in fact you can directly use them in the engine asking it to take those measures (24x24) and it should work perfectly.
Omg, how did I miss this! You are right. Thank you for clarifying this <3
Does this work with RPG Maker? I've Recently gotten into Game Development and am wanting to use this pack.
Hi!, I really don't know, you can give it a try with the free version and if it doesn't work, you can let me know what it needs to do to make it work.
im diggin your monster design style
Hey, many thanks n.n
its so pwetty~ ( ΛΆΛαΛΛ΅ )
Thanks :)
Hello! I have recently become interested in creating games and would like to use your pack for my course work
Please tell me, is it better to place appropriate credit at the beginning of the game with the rest of the user agreements, or what would be more correct?
You can put it wherever you prefer and you think it doesn't break with the aesthetics of the game haha, best of luck with the creation of these next games. n.n
Great work!
By the way, is the floating star animation (shown by the sword) included? I could not find it.
Hi, I think I forgot to integrate them, but these days I will do it in addition with some extra content (update coming soon), thanks by the way.π¦
Really nice pack ! I will credit you in my game for the godot wild jam 71 !
Thanks, when you finish it, let me know and I'll go play it haha
this is nice and seems pretty peaceful, looking forward to the rain update
Thanks, I will try to bring it soon n.n
